NGF Voorjaarswedstrijd
Tijdens het paasweekend 2024 heb ik deelgenomen aan de NGF Voorjaarswedstrijd op de Stippelberg in Bakel.
Ondanks de kletsnatte baan en de af en toe stormkracht wind, ben ik heel erg tevreden met mijn gedeelde 8e plaats in dit toernooi (72-72-74), waar alle top amateurs van Nederland aan deelnemen. Mede dankzij de support van Neil, als mijn caddy.
De komende 2 weken ga ik toernooien spelen in Duitsland en Schotland, dus hopelijk kan ik daar mijn goeie vorm behouden, zodat ik daar ook goeie resultaten kan neerzetten.
PGE Spanish Junior Championship
Van 9 t/m 11 Januari heb ik het PGE Spanish Junior Championship gespeeld op de Alferini Golfbaan in Marbella.
Onder geweldige omstandigheden heb ik daar eerst 5 dagen getraind en daarna de wedstrijd gespeeld.
Dat de training zijn vruchten af heeft geworpen is wel te zeggen, want ik eindigde op de 2e plaats in de overall ranking en ook als 2e in de onder 18 categorie.
Dit was een mooie start van het jaar met een leuk resultaat. Klik hier, voor een indruk van de verschillende toernooi dagen.
Golfer van het jaar 2023
Tijdens de nieuwjaars receptie op het Rijk van Nijmegen ben ik gehuldigd als Golfer van het jaar 2023, dit voor het 2e jaar op rij.
Helaas kon ik zelf niet bij de huldiging aanwezig zijn omdat ik in Spanje was om te trainen en een wedstrijd te spelen. Mijn zus, Roos, heeft de prijs voor mij in ontvangst mogen nemen.
Tijdens de uitreiking werd de speech afgespeeld die ik van te voren had ingesproken en Guido zorgde er voor dat ik via een live-stream de hele uitreiking kon volgen.
Putting workshop Business Club
Eind november hebben we met een gedeelte van de leden van mijn business club en mijn sponsors, een putting workshop gehouden bij de putting Academy van Rob Mouwen.
Een gezellige middag waarbij we veel geoefend hebben, in de vorm van allerlei kleine wedstrijdjes.
Quadrangular Italie
Op de schitterende baan van de Golf Nazionale bij Rome heb ik begin oktober meQuadrangular Italiet de Nederlandse selectie onder 16 een 4 landen toernooi gespeeld.
Wat het extra speciaal maakte was dat de hele signing van de Junior Ryder cup, die op deze baan is gespeeld, nog in de baan stond.
Met het team zijn we uiteindelijk 2e geworden. Zelf kon ik mijn status van ongeslagen in de vierlanden toernooien van dit jaar behouden, door allebei mijn wedstrijden tegen een top speler uit België en Zwitserland te winnen.
NK onder 16
23-24 september heb ik het NK onder de 16 gespeeld op de Eindhovensche Golfclub. Ik had goede hoop op een top klassering maar helaas ging de laatste ronde niet zoals ik had gehoopt.
Na rondjes 72-72-76 viel ik met een 4e plaats, net buiten de prijzen.
Heel afgezaagd, maar wel weer wat geleerd en dan vooral om me niet te laten afleiden door invloeden van buitenaf en langzaam spel van andere.
Dan maar mijn eerste titel op het NK onder 18 en/of 21.
Italian Open onder 16
Eind augustus heb ik deel genomen aan het Italiaans open onder 16 op de historische baan van Golfclub Biella, net ten noord-oosten van Turijn. Het deelnemers veld bestond uit de 144 beste jeugd spelers onder de 16 van Europa.
Na 3 dagen voorspelen in erbarmelijke omstandigheden, met een enorme hoeveelheid regen, was het tijdens de 3 wedstrijd dagen gelukkig een stuk beter en lag de baan er verrassend goed bij.
Met mijn 4 rondjes (73-77-77-74) en een totaal score van +9, ben ik uiteindelijk gedeeld 31st geworden.
Volgend jaar weer een kans bij dit erg mooie en historische toernooi.
NK Matchplay en Strokeplay
Eind Juli en begin Augustus heb ik het NK Matchplay en Strokeplay gespeeld op de banen van Crossmoor en de Hoge Kleij.
Helaas verliepen beide toernooien niet zoals ik had gehoopt. In typisch Nederlands weer met heel veel regen werd ik op het NK Matchplay 9e en in het NK Strokeplay heb ik de cut helaas niet gehaald.
Wel heb ik mijn eerste voorpagina in een krant gehaald, zie hier.
Nu eerst vakantie en dan het Italiaans onder de 16.
Club kampioen Het Rijk
Na het club kampioenschap Matchplay op de Rosendaelsche en het jeugd kampioenschap strokeplay op Het Rijk van Nijmegen, nu ook club kampioen Matchplay op Het Rijk van Nijmegen.
Ondanks de drukke week in Engeland is het mij voor het 2e jaar op rij gelukt om club kampioen te worden op Het Rijk van Nijmegen. Mede door het fantastische caddie werk van Neil Smith.
Volgende week NK Matchplay onder de 21 op Crossmotor.
McGregor Trophy
Van 18 t/m 20 juli heb ik de McGregor Trophy gespeeld op de links golfbaan van Hunstanton Golfclub in Engeland.
Het ging voor de 3e week op rij, weer fantastisch. Na 4 rondjes (72-70-71-68) op de par-72 baan, eindigde ik als 4e in de McGregor Trophy en 2e in de Jean Case Memorial. Hiermee was ik ook de beste Europeaan, na de Engelsen
Op naar de volgende wedstrijd, het club kampioenschap Matchplay en het NK Matchplay onder de 21, de komende week.
Jeugd Clubkampioenschap Strokeplay
Tussen alle Nationale en Internationale wedstrijden in, was afgelopen weekend het Jeugd Clubkampioenschap op Het Rijk van Nijmegen.
Voor het 4e jaar op rij werd ik, na 2 rondjes par op de Nijmeegse baan, weer Jeugd Clubkampioen Strokeplay. Dit jaar met een voorsprong van 7 slagen op de nummer 2.
Tot nu toe brengt de nieuwe tas van Sony Nederland mij veel geluk.
Clubkampioen Rosendaelsche
Afgelopen weekend ben ik Clubkampioen Matchplay geworden op de Rosendaelsche.
Onder tropische omstandigheden en de dreiging van noodweer, kon ik mijn hoofd koel houden en de regerend kampioen in de finale verslaan.
Super trots en heel blij dat de eerste wedstrijd met Sony als sponsor meteen een dikke overwinning is geworden.
Op naar de McGregor Trophy in Engeland
Sony op de tas
Met enorme trots kan ik melden dat Sony mijn tas sponsort. Dit is mede mogelijk gemaakt door Grijpink foto in Nijmegen.
Met deze nieuwe tas ga ik de komende maanden veel toernooien, in binnen en buitenland, spelen. Om te beginnen het Holbox Open op de Global Junior Tour.
Naast Sony word ik al geruime tijd gesponsord door de Harbor Gym in Nijmegen waar ik samen met mijn personal trainer hard werk aan mijn fysiek.
NK Matchplay
Half Juni heb ik het NK Matchplay gespeeld op Golf & Countryclub Geijsteren.
Maandag de kwalificatie, als onderdeel van de PGF holland Tour. Deze ging erg goed, met een score van +1, kwalificeerde ik me als 5e.
De 1e ronde op donderdag ging prima en won ik dan ook met 5&4. In de 2e ronde speelde ik ook prima, alleen mijn tegenstander speelde nog beter. Helaas eindigde daar het NK Matchplay voor mij.

NK onder 21
Eind mei heb ik het NK onder de 21 gespeeld op de schitterende baan van de Noord Nederlandse in Glimmen.
Mijn eerste 6 holes van het toernooi waren dramatisch, +9. Daarna heb ik me gelukkig kunnen herpakken met een super 2e ronde van +1.
Helaas was de 3e ronde weer wat minder gevolgd door een redelijke 4e ronde. Uiteindelijk +24 voor het toernooi en een 26e plaats.
Over mijn 2e en 4e ronde ben ik erg tevreden, ook gezien de omstandigheden. De andere 2 rondes waren leerzaam maar ga ik snel vergeten.
NK onder de 18
Op de baan van De Haar bij Utrecht heb ik begin mei het NK onder de 18 gespeeld.
Na 4 keer 18 holes golf had ik totaal +17, een flinke verbetering ten opzichten van vorig jaar en mijn doel van Top-15 gehaald.
Tot aan de green ging het prima, maar het putten was minder. Weer genoeg om de komende weken aan te werken samen met Rob en Guido.
Op naar het volgende toernooi, het NK onder de 21
Jeugd Quadrangular
5 en 6 April heb ik het Jeugd Quadrangular gespeeld met de leden van de Nederlandse selectie onder 16, op de Kennemer Golfclub.
We speelde tegen teams van Wales, Schotland en Ierland. Na 2 singles en 1 foursome wedstrijd, won het Nederlandse team.
Tijdens het toernooi was ik de enige jongen die al zijn wedstrijden had gewonnen. Een prestatie waar ik enorm trots op ben.
Nederlands School Kampioenschap
Op 19 maart heb ik het Nederlands School team kampioenschap gespeeld, samen met Kayden Chang. Tijdens het kampioenschap vertegenwoordigen wij het SSGN.
Ondanks dat we niet gezamenlijk hadden kunnen oefenen, was onze prestatie er niet minder door.
Na 18 holes eindigden wij op de 1e plaats met een score van -10, 8 slagen voorsprong op de rest van het veld.
Training camp in Spain
End of January I went to Spain, together with my coach (Guido Loning) and my father. Under very good circumstances I was able to train at La Cala Golf Resort in Mijas.
I the morning we went to the gym of the hotel for a physical training followed by a lot of practicing at the driving range and the short game area.

A fantastic 2022
2022 was a great year for me, I won all the major senior championships at my club, had a very successful ReidCup, won the 2 Golf Master Tournaments I participated in and had a great time with the Dutch team in Waterloo, winning the country ranking.
I am already preparing for the 2023 season together with my coach, physical trainer and putting coach. End of January we will travel to Malaga to have a great training week in fantastic circumstances, made possible by my sponsor.
Looking forward to all national and international tournaments in 2023!
2nd win on the Junior Golf Masters Tour
From the 11th until the 14th of October, I played the SBYT – SCHOLARBOOK YOUTH TROPHY on the Junior Golf Masters Tour in Germany.
After 3 rounds at the Bochumer Golfclub, I ended at 1st place in my age category, with a 5 stroke lead on the number 2.

Dutch Championship under 15
On the 17th and 18th of September the Dutch Championship under 15 was held at the Edese Golfcourse near Arnhem.
The tournament consists of 3 rounds of 18 holes with a cut after the first round. I played 3 consitent rounds of 74-71-73, after which I finish 4th in the championship.
With only 3 boys in front, of which all of them are 15 years old, I am very proud of this achievement, which also brought me back on the top of the EGR ranking for Dutch boys under 14.
Club Strokeplay Champion
The 10th and the 11th of September I played the Strokeplay championship at Het Rijk van Nijmegen. After becoming second in the Junior Matchplay Championship last week, I had my sights set on this one.
Due to the bad weather the first day we only played 11 holes, after which I already led the field by 4 strokes. During the 18 holes on Sunday I was able to extend my lead by an additional one stroke.
With that 5 stoke lead on the 2nd and 10 strokes on the 3rd place, I became the Strokeplay champion of Het Rijk van Nijmegen, after already winning the Matchplay championship a few months ago.
English Boys’ Open
First week of August 2022, I played the English Boys Open under 14, at the Lincoln Golf Club in Great Britain, the Reid Trophy.
This year, 133 of the top golfers under 14 from all over Europa, participated. First day, I played +5 but after that, I only got better. -1 and -2 on the other 2 days.
With an overall score of +2 I won 3rd place in this prestigious tournament.
Club Champion Matchplay
End of July, I participated in the Rijk van Nijmegen Matchplay club championship, for the 2nd year.
Last year I became 3rd, this year I am the Club Champion Matchplay Champion. With a fantastic shot from the fairway bunker, that ended up within 2 meters of the hole, I won the final 5&4.
It makes me even prouder, when seeing the name of Robert Jan Derksen on the Trophy, as the first winner in 1994.
Belgium Championship Under 14
Early Juli 2022, I played the Belgium Championship under 14, at the Lion course of Royal Waterloo.
My first round was a +8, which was disappointing. Next 2 days I was able to recover with a +1 and level round, with a total of 7 birdies.
Individually I ended 15th, and with the Dutch Team, we won the Nations Cup, for which we received a nice trophy in the form a golden smurf
Kennemer Open 2022
End of June 2022, I played the Kennemer Open at the Kennemer Golf Course in Zandvoort. The last official tournament before the Belgium Championship under 14 at Royal Waterloo, early July.
The Kennemer is a beautiful, but very challenging golf course. The course was in top condition, but the wind made it extra difficult.
I finished 25th overal, in a strong field with all Dutch Top Golfers, and 1st in the under 14 category, too bad it was not an official category.
Starter at the DutchOpen
During the DutchOpen 2022, I was asked to help with starting the player on the 1st Tee of the Bernardus Golf Course.
Together with a referee of the NGF I started the first flights on Sunday morning, this included great players like Joost Luiten, Darius van Driel and Bernd Wiesberger.
In the afternoon, I played Beat-The-Pro. Although I reached the green, both pro’s were able to hit their ball closer to the pin.
Beat the Pro Club Challenge
Early May2022, I participate in the Beat-The-Pro Club challenge at The Goyer. I was invited by my club to represent the junior golfers of our club, as I was the Junior Club Golfer of 2021.
During the Challenge I was able to beat the pro, Wouter de Vries, with a nice shot toward the pin, with a lot of back spin.
I will be competing in Beat-The-Pro at the DutchOpen on Sunday the 29th of May 2022. I will compete against Ross Fisher and Jordan Smith
Junior Strokeplay Championship
Mid May 2022, I participated in the Junior Strokeplay championships at my club Het Rijk van Nijmegen.
After the first round on Saturday, I was leading the field with a 5-stroke lead. On Sunday I was able to extend that lead to 13-strokes!!
On the terrace of the clubhouse, I received the 1st price trophy for the 3rd year in a row.
Junior Golf Masters
Mid April 2022, I played the Junior Golf Masters on the very good course of Issum.
It was a 3 day tournament with on each day 18 holes. After the 2nd day, I was on the 2nd place 2-strokes behind the 1st place.
With a great final round of +1, I was able to reach the 1st place in my first Junior Golf Masters tournament.
It was a very good experience, which I hopefully can repeat in the coming months.
PGA Catalunya
February 2022, I started the season with a trip to Barcelona and PGA Catalunya. Great course in fantastic condition.
I played both courses, the Tour and Stadium course. Both were in perfect condition because of the Ecco Tour, which was held at the same time as our stay.
Very nice to see such good players on the green of the 10th hole, just of the terrace of our house. Next time, I want to participate.
Junior Golfer of the year
Early January 2022, I was nominated for the junior golfer of the year 2021, at my home course Het Rijk van Nijmegen.
During a ceremony at the terrace of the clubhouse I was given the first price for the second year in a row.
This time the title come with an official golden parking stand, for my bike. Right in front of the clubhouse.
The Rosendaelsche
January 3rd, 2022, I played my 1st round at the fantastic golfcourse of The Rosendaelsche as an official member.
I will be playing many rounds at this course and spend a lot of hours at their excellent training grounds.
